John Creaney

John Creaney (known as Jack) is my great uncle, the brother of my grandfather Alfred.

Not much is known of John at this time, he married Mary Ellen Haire on 16 Nov 1910 and had 4 children.

The family lived at Woodview, Hockley, Co Armagh. John worked for a time as a footman at Hockley Lodge.

On 16 Sept 1914 John joined the Royal Irish Fusilers. On 1 July 1916 John was killed at the Battle of the Somme and his name is recorded on the Theipval Memorial.
