George Wesley Moffett my Great Grand Uncle was married to Mary Ann McKeown.

It seems that George Wesley returned to Cookstown from Larne not long after the family moved there, he married in Cookstown & had the first 4 of his 7 children there, The family then moved to Belfast about 1911, living at 80 Mervue street for over 30 years. George Wesley died in 1935, in 1942 their house was bombed in the blitz & Mary Ann moved in with daughter Sadie in Hogarth Street in 1942 until her death in 1973 at 94.

In the 1950s as a boy with my mother we used to visit “aunt Sadie” in Hogarth Street who was George Wesley's daughter, Sadie's mother Mary Ann then lived with her & her family and was known to us as “Granny Moffett”. Of course at that time I had no idea of the exact family relationship, in fact Sadie was my grandmother Anna Moffett's first cousin, Anna had died when my mother was very young.

George Wesley was a Master Taylor and can be seen at his work in the picture above.

The following picture is Mary Ann & the final one is Sadie with her husband William & their 2 sons.
